I am now retired and am looking for genealogy for my husband an Adkins from the Sandy Hook area. His father died young and had moved to Ca at the end of WWII so family information is limited. My husband was the youngest of several children and never had any exposure to Adkins relatives of his father.

My grandmother was born in Catlettsburg, my great grandmother is buried in Pike County. The Varneys, as you no doubt know herald from the region as well. My mother and I hope to return to Pike and Floyd counties this spring to dig up (well, not literally!) our ancestors and glean whatever information we can gather for ourselves and our posterity. We have a few mysteries and we hope to find answers in your myriad of cemeteries. Perhaps you can be of assistance!
