It's the teaser sentence. Nothing like that first sentence after the title to get me to read one.
It's the character in the story.
How many awards a story has won.
How long it is.
I read them all no matter what. I'm a fanfiction nut.
I read everything by a certain author.
The type of the story it is. (i.e. drama, romance, sci-fi, supernatural)
It's more then one of these reasons and I'm gonna e-mail Purple Lipstick to tell them what ones.
