At some point we all stick our name in Google and when i did it you came up!! I have never met another "Garton" apart from family and to find one that is an SJG is quite bizzare. My family routes are in the south east of England. Do you have your family tree posted abywhere?? |

Lovely site. But you have some incorrect information about Ann ALLERSTON daughter of William ALLERSTON and Mary Ann CRANSWICK. Ann's first husband was Richard Gray KNOTT whom she married in Bridlington 24 September 1859 at Christ church. Richard died 1871 in Pietermaritzburg and for a while there Ann was a widow and a merry one because she had a daughter Alice Maud Burchell Knott in 1875 only marrying the father Frank Burchell in 1878. Ann is my great granddmother. Her son William Knott is my grandfather, he was born in Bridlington before they left for Durban and Natal to join her father. I have masses of info about them. My maiden name is KNOTT and I have been working on William's biography for some years now and on the Allerstons too. Regards and please get in touch? Patricia |
