Interesting in finding more about the true ancestry of Joe FURNISS (sic), b.1847, natural child of Ann FURNESS b.1828. I assume someone here has more genealogy relating to this branch than I do. |

I am Looking for information regarding my great grandmother Mary Bassnett. In 1891 she is listed as a boarder @ age 1 in Barrow-in-Furness living with a woman named Ann Gildart (Geldert). In the year 1911 at age 21 she is listed as a servant to Samuel Bird Cook on 11 Duke Street. I want to know information regarding her life during those years and what happened to her parents. |

My earliest known family (on my father\'s side) has been traced to the village of Hawkshead in the Lake District, particularly the area called Satterthwaite. There seems to be a great deal of information extant on both the parish and the name, to my my delight. Thank you for making available a guest book - fascinating in its own right! |

If anyone is researching (Thomas) Edmund CASSON 11 Jan 1883 Pennington ~ 19 Feb 1960 Ulverston, a schoolmaster and lyricist, I have prepared a small article about him for use in my singing programmes. Lyricists are usually largely disregarded - consigned to secondary status - when music programmes are prepared but I wanted to know more about this person who had insired a composer to write such an unusual and rewarding piece as \"Carol of the Skiddaw Yowes\". The preparation work is mine, but I\'d be happy to share the article with your society, should you be interested. |

Looking on behalf ofmy mother-in-law Frances(Fay) Rigg. She was a member and still receives the newsletter but is worried that she hasn’t paid her membership for a long time. I wish to update it for her. She has researched in the past for Rigg from Wild Duck and Ulverston as my father-in-law’s father was born there. |

My grandfather was born James Lehrle 1881. He was born out of wedlock to Fanny Lehrle & Frances Lawrence from Barr-in-Furness. I have a lot of information in regard to Fanny\'s family but I have no information in regard to who James\' father may have been. I was hoping a family member may have details of a story passed down from Fanny\'s siblings as to who my G. Grandfather may have been. Sadly, children born out of wedlock back in those days were a shame on the family. |

I am researching my Great Grandfather, John Addison who married Ruth Hodgson in Lancaster. He was born in 1851 in Preston but the family roots appear to be from further north and into Furness. Any confirmation of this would be welcome! |
