Catweazle at the NFT

Seeing as we are so close to the annual Catweazle fete, I thought I’d post this up as it really needs to live beyond the VHS tape it currently endures on. In 1998, I wrote to the NFT on London’s Southbank requesting a screening of Catweazle. Initially agreed, the request turned into a month-long celebration of Richard Carpenter’s amazing cannon of work. I bought a very heavy VHS camera to record the event, and not familiar with its workings, it was a very shaky affair. That said, it does manage to preserve the wonderful words of Richard, Joy Whitby and Geoffrey Bayldon. A magical night, amazing to think it was 18 years ago!
