Passing of a former KOYLI
A short note to report the passing of my father, Allan Hewitt Cooke, who served in the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry during WWII. He died suddenly without suffering on 15th June 2007, aged 84. He leaves three sons, a daughter, 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. His wife, Agnes Cooke, died after a short illness in November 1985. Despite serving in Anzio and other dangerous locations, my father spoke fondly of friends and colleagues in the KOYLI regiment.
