I wish to thank Mr. Batick for his coverage of Lisa's Brast Cancer.
Everyday, the first thing I do is go to the comic page in the Indianapolis Star Newspaper, and look for the Funk Winkerbean strip.
The hard road that Lisa and her family have traveled reminds me of my own family history of cancer.
My wife is a Breast Cancer survivor and I know the fear that Lisa's family has known. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about the Breast Cancer thing.
To bring humor to people is one thing that is a gift. When you can bring humor as well as hope and reality to people, you are a person that I admire very much.
With Lisa, the cancer reality goes hand and hand with everyday life.
We who have lost loved one's from this dreaded scurge know the fear and hope that goes with living and death.
There have been time as I read about Lisa, I have tears running down my face, knowing that this could still be about my wife and our family.
I for one, wish to applaud and thank Tom Batiuk for bringing this to everyone's attention.
Also, Tom's coverage about other problems in life is very tasteful and courageous.
