Wi-Fi secure??

Just wondering how secure in terms of password/encryption is the Wi-Fi at the gym and Rawai Guesthouse - if I use my laptop to access personal bank accounts.
Thanks

Re: Wi-Fi secure??

the password is
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

the letter "A" 26 times

no joke

Re: Wi-Fi secure??

It's no more or less secure than doing your banking on the free wireless in a coffee shop.

As you can see the pre-shared key (password) is well known and hasn't changed since I was there in '08.

Point is for banking it doesn't matter if the gym wireless is encrypted or has a password or not as your bank does require both. I used the wireless at Goongs for 3 months which was similar or no password.

If you use any shared wireless have a firewall running on your laptop to protect your data and trust the banks to protect theirs.

It's all good, enjoy your trip :)

I do this for a living so trust me or quiz me whichever you fancy.

Re: Wi-Fi secure??

I deactivated the password so now, when you turn on your laptop it should automatically find the network (Rawai Muay Thai) and connect to it. No password needed. Sure, anyone can use it, but it's mostly our students staying in the camp that use our network.
