Im headin over to tokio this year...any suggestions?

Hi guys!

Im headin over to japan to visit some relatives this summer for 3 weeks.
Anybody know a good gym there?

I heard some of them dont accept foreigners?
Some dislike tattooed fighters?

I wouldnt need much technical training or conditioning as the time is rather short and i do all the conditioning and strength training by myself.
So im searching for a gym where i can just sparr everyday(boxing, muay thai or kickboxing)!

I mean its more of a holiday but i still want to trade some leather everyday!

help much much appreciated!
regards

thanks for the tip i'll go look at it for sure.

but don't you know a gym which focuses mainly on stand-up?
best would be a weekly split between boxing/kickboxing/muay thai

Re: Im headin over to tokio this year...any suggestions?

The only reason i know about AACC is one of our coaches past students now lives in Japan and trains there.

Not sure but this maybe some help.

yeah i was thinking about going to fairtex, they allow foreigners as far as i understood them on the phone...

just thought when finally going to tokyo i would rather look for a japanese kickboxing camp for something different(been to muay thai gyms around the world numerous times the last 4 years)

Re: Im headin over to tokio this year...any suggestions?

What about kyokushin? Interested in that?

I'm sure my coach would know somewhere in tokyo for that.

Re: Im headin over to tokio this year...any suggestions?

Hey Rob,

I have been living in Japan for 8 years now, work as a muay thai/ fitness trainer here. Have visited Rawaii 3 times.... miss it tons!!
I can suggest some gyms or come and train with me or some of my friends who have gyms!
I train at Weerasaklek/Fairtex on my days off, I prefer training with Thais!
In general there are some differences with foreigners training here in Japanese gyms.
If you are here now, please post your e-mail and we can hook up.
