finding an artist

i am trying to find the name of a particular artist. i think he was from the 50s. he had a band that made fun of songs. he redid the music and put in funny sounds and noises. his son tried to do the same thing durinf the 70s but it did not go over well. can some one help me? i just hate it when i cannot remember.
