Catholic Priest Pleads No Contest

A Wyoming Catholic priest, "Father" Anthony Jablonowski, pleaded no contest
to a charge of taking 'indecent liberties' with a 17-year-old boy who besought
counseling about being gay back in 1982 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in
the southeastern Wyoming town of Guernsey. Other pending charges of felonious
restraint, third-degree sexual assault and battery were dropped per plea
bargain agreement. The priest maintains his declaration innocence but said
he copped the plea because his religious oaths wouldn't allow him to speak
about the boy and his 'counselling.' The 69 yr old now-defrocked priest was
sentenced to 15 months to seven years in prison.

It was actually diocese officials who got the investigation started after
hearing rumors about odd rituals performed by Jablonowski in the basement
of the church in Guernsey where he allegedly stripped boys down, blindfolded,
hung them upside-down and whipped them. The diocese notified Platte County
Attorney Eric Alden who involved the state Division of Criminal Investigation
to investigate.

Pope on Phillipines

Pope John Paul II recently met with Leonida Vera, who is the new ambassador
of the Philippines to the 'Holy See.' In his address that day JP2 said that
the Phillipino government needed "to end the terrorism which continues to
cause so much suffering to the civilian population, and to embrace the path
of dialogue which alone will enable the people of the region to create a
society that guarantees justice, peace and harmony for all. ... Accordingly,
it is essential that the state continue to promote dialogue in society, fostering
mutual understanding and appreciation among the various religions."

"This process is most effective when all levels of public education include
curricular components that help people to recognize the value of tolerance
and encourage them to strive towards a culture based on authentic peace and
justice. ... We can together eliminate the social and cultural causes of
terrorism by teaching the greatness and dignity of the human person, and
by spreading a clearer sense of the oneness of the human family," the Pontiff
added.

Pontifical Biblical Commisssion?

The Pope met with the 20-member assembly of the Pontifical Biblical Commission,
an institution under the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith [New
Inquisition~kmh]. The President of the commission is Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger
and it's secretary-general is Jesuit Father Klemens Stock. John Paul II told
the assembly "The Bible presents to us the inexhaustible riches of this
revelation of God and of his love for humanity. The duty of your common
commitment is to facilitate for the Christian people access to this
treasure.
"

Cardinal Ratzinger said "In contemporary society there is a growing expectation
for a non-confessional ethic, for a so-called lay morality produced by reason
alone and independent of any revelation. ... Human reason is certainly able
to know and to formulate valid moral norms," he acknowledged. "However, it
is fragile and limited and is not able to reveal to itself its origin and
its ultimate meaning, as it is the reason of sinful man."

Ratzinger promoted the (false) authority of the Roman Church over the laity
saying, "The moral law is the work of divine Wisdom. Its biblical meaning
can be defined as fatherly instruction, God's pedagogy." ..... "The Christian
does not live and understand his faith or his moral life on his own. The
access to faith
in Jesus Christ, who offers salvation, takes place
through the mediation of a living Tradition, the Church
: through this
Tradition, Christians receive the 'living voice of the Gospel,' as the faithful
expression of divine wisdom and will."

Algerian Muslim Deported from France

An Algerian Muslim prayer leader, Chirane Abdelkader Bouziane, was deported
from France last week. Bouziane made comments in the April edition of Lyon
Mag that a man could beat his wife "under certain conditions, notably if
the woman cheats on her husband.'' He claimed that the Quran, the Muslim
holy book, "authorizes'' such punishment - an interpretation rejected by
most Muslims." He later specified to reporters that he meant only to hit
the women on their bottoms and not just anywhere. The interviewer had later
asked if Bouziane was in favor of the capital punishment of stoning, he replied,
"yes." The French authorities said such statements were scandalous. An AP
story quoted The Interior Ministry in a statement as saying: "The government
cannot tolerate remarks in public that are contrary to human rights, detrimental
to human dignity and in particular to the dignity of women.'' The growing
global attention to 'words as weapons' makes certain free speech subject
to hate crime prosecution.

correspondent Jack Kelley. American Newspapers and other media are mostly
owned and operated by no more than 6 major corporations and make up

Media Quote

"The major media are large corporations, owned by and
interlinked with even larger conglomerates. Like other corporations, they
sell a product to a market. The market is advertisers - that is, other
businesses. The product is audiences, [and] for the elite media, [they're]
relatively privileged audiences. So we have major corporations selling fairly
wealthy and privileged audiences to other businesses. Not surprisingly, the
picture of the world presented reflects the narrow and biased interests and
values of the sellers, the buyers and the product."

In Lima Peru, a Roman Catholic Cardinal was accused of being part of a plot

Twisted Scriptures - Are the new versions just
"per-versions"?
- by Kenneth M.
Hoeck

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved
unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the
word of truth.

From time to time, in this column, we present some comparative analysis of
the many different bible versions to show the errors of many of the modern
versions. Today we are looking at Luke 4:4.

Here is another of the numerous OMISSIONS from the original Greek texts that
appears (or shall we say DOESN'T APPEAR) in some of the modern translations.
Let's look at the anglicanized Greek first.

Luke 4:4 And Jesus
answered him ,
saying , It is written , That man
shall not live by
bread alone , but by
every word of God .
- KJV with Strong's Numbers (shows each word from the
original Greek)

We see every word the translators used to translate the text into English
or other various languages. Now, let us go on to read this verse from several
translations:

Luke 4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying,
It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word
of God.
- KJV (King James Version)

Luke 4:4 But Jesus answered him, saying,
"It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word
of God.
' " - NKJV (New King James Version)

Luke 4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying,
It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word
of God.
- WBT (Webster's Bible Translation)

Luke 4:4 Jesus answered him, saying,
"It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word
of God.'
" - WEB (World English Bible)

In the four above-listed versions (of this particular scripture) we see some
accurate translations. Let us look at this verse in a few of the New Age
versions:

Luke 4:4 And Jesus answered unto him,
It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone. -
ASV (American Standard Version)

Luke 4:4 And Jesus answered him, "It
is written, `Man shall not live on bread alone.' "
- NAS (New American Standard Version)

Luke 4:4And Jesus answered him, "It is
written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone.'" - RSV
(Revised Standard Version)

Luke 4:4 But Jesus told him, "No! The
Scriptures say, 'People need more than bread for their life.'
- NLT (New Living Translation)

Luke 4:4 And Jesus made answer to him,
It has been said in the Writings, Bread is not man's only need.
- BBE (bible in Basic English)

Luke 4:4 But Jesus answered him, "It
is written: Man must not live on bread alone." - The
Holman Christian Standard Bible

Luke 4:4 Jesus answered, "It is written:
'Man does not live on bread alone.'" -NIV (New
International Version)

Luke 4:4 Jesus answered by quoting
Deuteronomy: "It takes more than bread to really live." -
The Message

We see in the eight latter-listed per-versions of Luke 4:4 that some words
have been purposefully LEFT OUT. WHY would any conscientious translator leave
out, of one verse, some five words (or 25% of the original verse)
in a dutiful translation? What power or spirit would want to let SOME of
God's word get through but not ALL of God's Word?

In Luke 4:4 Jesus answered the Adversary after he tried to tempt Him to command
the stones to turn to bread. The devil tried to get Christ to DOUBT and DISTRUST
GOD for sustenance. He tried to get Him to DOUBT His own Messiahship (IF
you are the Son of God THEN ...) The Lord Jesus, skilled in wielding the
Sword of the Spirit, answered with the Word of God from Deuteronomy 8:3.

Deuteronomy 8:1 All the commandments which I command thee this day shall
ye observe to do, that ye may live
, and multiply, and go
in and possess the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers. 2 And thou
shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee
these forty
years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what
was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.

3 And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with
manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might
make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word
that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.
4 Thy
raiment waxed not old upon thee, neither did thy foot swell, these forty
years. 5 Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chasteneth
his son, so the LORD thy God chasteneth thee. 6 Therefore thou shalt keep
the commandments of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him.

We see that the Old Testament reference, that Jesus used, contextually concerned
the keeping of God's commandments. This may be the reason the modern
"per-versions" leave off the end of Luke 4:4. The omitted words remind us
of God's commandments and our duty to be obedient to them. They remind us
that just because we may suffer at times, our primary function is to love,
honor, and obey our God, and neither discomfort nor persecution are reason
for distrust or disobedience of God. We must study and meditate upon every
word of God so we are prepared during times of adversity.

We must learn that the scripture, or the word of God, is the only sure weapon
wherewith to vanquish Satan, and to beat back all his fiery temptation. Truly,
as Jesus said, "man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word
of God.
"

Revelation 22:19 And if any man shall take away
from the words
of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his
part out of the book of life
, and out of the holy city, and from the
things which are written in this book.
