Holidays are fine according to Paul

Jesus said that "a house divided against itself cannot stand", yet we see the church divided over stupid and senseless issues that not only makes the church a laughing stock to the world, but also look like a bunch of mindless bickering idiots who cannot even get their own act together much less have the solution to the world's problems. All I have found on this forum and other forums like this one is the constant bickering over the issue of celebrating holidays. Gee whiz ... even Paul dealt with this issue very clearly yet all of these self-professing Bible scholars act as though they have never read of the following passage ...

"One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike. Let each be fully convinced in his own mind. He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord; and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it. He who eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he who does not eat, to the Lord he does not eat, and gives God thanks. For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself. For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord's. For to this end Christ died and rose and lived again, that He might be Lord of both the dead and the living. But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ." (Romans 14:5-10)

Look, if you want to celebrate Christmas, Easter, President's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, or even your own birthday ... then go right ahead as long as you acknowledge your God and Savior. If you don't want to celebrate those days, then fine - don't. No one is making you. But those of you who don't celebrate those days do not have any God given right to judge the rest of us who choose to - plain and simple. Sure, you have your freedom of speech guaranteed to you by the 1st Ammendment, but according to what Paul said, you do not have the right to belittle any Christian who chooses to celebrate any holiday. Your right as an American citizen may give you the right to curse also ... but God doesn't give you that right. However, we do have the right to celebrate any holiday within our culture as long as we acknowledge God.

Oh, by the way, I agree with the last poster in that we do not use words like "harken", "thee", "thou", "shalt", or any other 17th century words in modern English. It is my suspicion that the only people who still use these words are people who think that the King James Version 1611 is the only authorized Bible and English grammer book for everyone today. My response is ... GROW UP and GET A LIFE!
