Never a Debtor Be

"nearly one-half of the U.S. Treasury debt is held by foreigners.  The
Bank of Japan alone owns $440 billion of Treasury securities, the Bank of
China some $122 billion.  Other Asian governments hold $166 billion.
They have become major creditors because U.S. trade deficits, which are a
direct consequence of the super stimulation, now exceed $500 billion a year

Anglican Severes Episcopal Church Ties

The world's third-largest Anglican Church, the 8 million-member Anglican
Church in Uganda, has formally cut ties with the U.S.-based Episcopal Church
over the consecration the openly gay Bishop V. Gene Robinson.  Bishops
stated that "any same-sex relationship is a disorder of God's creation."
This move had the Ugandan church allying with the Anglican bishops of Nigeria,
the world's second-largest Anglican province, -- who On Nov. 15, voted to
formally cut ties "with all the bishops and dioceses in (the Episcopal Church)
that have joined in this divisive and unscriptural act." The very large Anglican
"Global South" has not seperated but said they will not recognize Robinson
as a Bishop.

Anglicans & Freemasons

ACNS recently published an article titled "Freemasons and the Anglican Church"
regarding a statement made by the Anglican Media Sydney and the Diocese of
Canberra and Goulburn.

The ACNS piece reads in part: 'Sydney Anglicans have sent a clear message
to Freemasons across the state: your beliefs are "contrary to biblical
Christianity." The strongly worded statement is part of a motion passed by
Synod that describes the belief system as 'fundamentally and irreconcilably
incompatible' with the Christian faith. The motion calls on Christians who
belong to a Masonic Lodge to resign their membership, as a demonstration
of their commitment to Jesus Christ.' The motion also encourages ministers
to not participate in or allow church buildings to be used for services that
encourage Freemasonry.

The Rt Revd George Browning, Bishop of the Diocese of Canberra & Goulburn,
blasted the originator of the motion Rev Bill Winthrop of Lithgow stating
the resolution is not binding on Anglicans and is

based only on Lithgow's own perception of what Freemasonry represents. Browning
encouraged Anglicans to "meet Freemasons with respect and a listening ear,
and for Anglican Freemasons to be alert to possible issues that may be a
cause of conflict for them in living out their Christian faith."

On The Net: Church of God member, brother, and dear friend, Steve Bruns has
posted the Jack Elliot article from the Radio Church of God (1961) titled
"The Truth about Masonry" in PDF format at:
