Well I have to go back on the 5th at 0600. I have had a blast being home. It was great to see Steph and Alex. Alex has got so big. As of his 1yr check up he is 23lbs and 31 in. And is in great health. I also wanted everyone to know that I will be back around the end of Feb. Also I have decided to try out for Special Forces. Steph and I talk about this for a good time and we both think it is the right step for my life in the army right now. So any way I am going to get off here so I can spend some more time with steph and alex. Love you all.
Well I made it back to Iraq. It kinda sucks being back well i lied it just sucks. But I only have around 119 days left for this deployment. Plus my Plt. needed me back. The day I came home on r-n-r my Plt. was hit with 2 big ieds. One burned a truck to the ground and the other was knocked out of commision. But thank god no one was killed. We still have 4 out of the six in the hospital. The one who got hit the hardest was a friend of mine from basic. He has a broke leg in 2 spots and they dont know if he will keep is leg or every walk right now. But because of one of the guys in my squad did a great job of bandging him up the docs said that my have saved his foot. So if you all can keep Spc Robert King and his family in your prays. Well that is about it for now. I think i am off to play army agian for a few more months. As always I love you all and cant wait to be back in the states to see you all agian.
Well hi everyone. Things are still same old Iraq right now. We are counting down the days till we get home. Everyone is a little down because of the holidays. We were told we will be home for Thanksgiving when we left so we are alittle sad about being here. But on a good note for us we traded all of our old trucks (1114) for new trucks (1151) the main diff is that the 1151 has more armor under the truck and is more up to date. They are not that old most of them have hardly more than 1700 on them. The old trucks some have been here from OIF 2 like my old truck. Update on King. He will get to keep his foot and last we heard they think he will walk agian. But he is going to be discharged because of his injury. Other than that we are doing good. About 2 weeks ago we had a small spike in IEDs and our Plt. got hit with a few small ones. But right now the area is calm but that can change in a heart beat. Also I have been promoted to Spc (SPECIALIST). Well I love you all and wish I was home for the holidays so I could see you all. Mabe in a few months I will see you in GA when we get back. Love Eric
