To My Heroes

Everyone joins the Army for different reasons,
Some want glory, others money for school,
And yet others don’t’ know what else to do.

You went through Basic Training
Hoping to survive, you learned your Seven Values
None of which you can hide.

Loyalty to others, your family and friends.
Loyal to your brothers who stand, fight and defend.

Duty as a soldier fighting in this Foreign War.
Duty as a brother helping go through every door.

Respect yourself that you know just what to do.
Respect your brother and know they respect you to.

Self-less Service is what you give,
To every man, women, and child.
You do so with every ounce of strength
And sometimes with a smile.

Honor is what you have each and everyday.
Honor you have even without getting paid.

Integrity doing what is right and moral,
every single day.

Personal Courage being strong and brave,
While you fight for our freedoms every single day.

All of these things make up who you are,
And I am sitting he thanking my lucky star.

You stand for freedom in everything you do.
I want you to know that I am proud of each of you.

Never doubt the things that you can do.

You are all friends to me and my heroes to.
