Re: Sullivan lineage from Sullivans Hollow Mississippi

William Barnes Sullivan is the father of Minnie
Lee Sullivan (my grandmother) born 1889, died 1957. I have a family tree on Ancestry.com showing the research I have done on the family. William had 3 wives. The first one died in childbirth, the second had several children, then he divorced her and married a third time. I cannot find much on the second wife, divorced, where she went after the divorce and how she raised all those children.
William Gifford Sullivan is the father of William Barnes Sullivan, WG Sullivan died in the Civil War.
I, too, would like to find a link to the Sullivan's of Sullivan Hollow as I have heard many stores from my grandparents about that place, so I know there is a connection.
Any info you can share would be helpful.

Re: Sullivan lineage from Sullivans Hollow Mississippi

My grandfather was Mark Twain Sullivan, known as "M.T." and my father is Jesse James Sullivan. I to have heard many tales of the old hollow. From Wild Bill Sullivan to all of the others. My grandfather told me that he had relatives in the hollow. He died before we could meet them. I know that we had an ancester who fought with, "The Army of 10,000", out of Mississippi, in the Civil War. We also had an ancestor who was on the Moore side of our family who died at the Alamo. I also am trying to collect the history of our family. I know my father and grandfather said that we came from the County Cork area of Ireland and were O'Sullivan but dropped the "O" like so many other families did when moving here. Any help would be appreciated in this quest to regain our past, to help preserve it, and strengthen our future. Thank You for any help.
