I'm looking for any info. on my great-grandfather, James O'Sullivan, born 12/25/1878 in the Dingle area. I obtained a great deal of info. on his life in NYC as a NY Police Officer, but I hit a brick wall when I tried to get any info. from Ireland. Oral family history says that he emigrated when he was 16 or 17 (1895?) and that several of his brothers moved to England and became "bobbbies" or policemen there. His father's name was John, and his mother's name was Mary. James went on to have 3 sons, each of whom also became NYC Police Officers, and one daughter.
