Global Meeting Scheduled in London

The Archbishop of Canterbury, "the Most Reverend" Rowan Williams, is scheduled
to head several sessions of discussion organized by the St Paul's Institute
which claims to be a "forum for reflection, open debate, education and action
on the spiritual and ethical challenges facing business, finance and global
economics, and for addressing related environmental, social and political
issues." The series of dialogugues are tentatively entitled "'The Worlds
We Live In: Governance, Economy, Ecology and Health in the Global Context'"
and will be held at St Paul's Cathedral in London this September. The archbishop
will be joined by leading international experts in politics, economics, the
environment and world health.

The tell-tale titles for the individual sessions are:

Wednesday September 8 "How should the world be governed?"

Wednesday September 15: 'Is there an alternative to global capitalism?'

Tuesday September 21: 'Environment and humanity - friends or foes?'

Thursday 30 September: 'Is humanity killing itself?'

Captivity Quote

"It is perfectly possible for a man to be out of prison, and yet not free
- to be under no physical constraint and yet to be a psychological captive,
compelled to think, feel and act as the representatives of the national state,
or of some private interest within the nation, wants him to think, feel and
act.

"The nature of psychological compulsion is such that those who act under
constraint remain under the impression that they are acting on their own
initiative. The victim of mind-manipulation does not know that he is a victim.
To him the walls of his prison are invisible, and he believes himself to
be free. That he is not free is apparent only to other people. His servitude
is strictly objective." ~ Brave New World Revisited, Aldous Huxley, 1958

Isaiah 42:6-7 I the LORD have called thee in righteousness,
and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant
of the people, for a light of the Gentiles; To open the blind eyes, to
bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out
of the prison house

Global Currency

He who has the gold - makes the rules. The 2004 Single Global Currency
Association Conference was held on Friday, July 9 at the Mt. Washington Hotel
(New Hampshire). The meeting was staged here for historic reasons and to
build upon an existing foundation. Bretton Woods International Monetary
Conference met at this location back in 1944. 44 delegates from as many nations
met at the hotel to establish the World Bank and International Monetary Fund.
Morrison Bonpasse, who takes the lead for the Single Global Currency Association,
said that successive annual conferences at Bretton Woods would be held until
the single global currency is implemented, with a global central bank. The
goal of the Association is implementation by 2024.

The group's website says: "We believe that once the peoples (including their
corporations and labor and other organizations) of the world understand the
benefits of a single global currency, they will demand it from their
governments.  The single global currency is what the peoples of the
world need, and it is what they want."

The site indicates that the "single global currency would likely have a new
name which denotes its global use, such as "mundo", "global", or "eartha",
just as the "euro" is currently for Europe." One company INCIDE (is that
short for international suicide?) has suggested the name the "ONLY" for the
currency and is currently hosting a contest to design the new cash.

Pope-A-Dope
[the story link was forwarded by Sam & Faye Stamper from
Joe Chikar - thanks all!]

Will the real Pope please stand up? Is there an alternate Pope in Spain?
If you ask Clemente Dominguez there is. Its him. Nowadays, Dominguez prefers
to be called 'Gregorio XVII' and claims that the Pope in Rome is a pretender
to the throne. Clemente Dominguez said he had visions of the 'Virgin Mary'
and received messages from God telling him that the church in Rome and Pope
Paul VI were being misled. Gregorio was told in a vision in 1971 that 'Satan
is governing in the Vatican.' In 1972 the voices told him that 'Masons and
communism have infiltrated the Vatican.' In 1976 Dominguez lost his sight
in a car crash but he claims that the Virgin Mary promised he will regain
his sight eventually. In 1978, Pope Paul VI died and Clemente Dominguez,
on a trip to Colombia, proclaimed himself Pope 'Gregorio XVII'. Gregorio's
church says the Mass in Latin (like Mel Gibson& his father) rejects reforms
made by the Catholic Church at the 1962-65 Second Vatican Council, and even
have made former Spanish dictator Francisco Franco a saint. His followers
believe that at the end of his reign the anti-Christ appears and he will
put Pope Gregorio to death by crucifiction. Afterward Christ will appear
and destroy the anti-Christ and a new era will begin,"

Civilized Vampires: Blood Ingredients
[storylink sent by Steve Bruns -WA]

Scientists at the Voronezh State Technological Academy have developed a method
for processing blood and turning it into food products such as milk, yogurt,
chocolate, and coffee. Interfax relates that the Voronezh scientists noticed
some 12 years ago that every meat packing plant wastes about 7 tons of blood
daily. So they worked on a solution for utilizing it. Several 'test foods'
have been made of the blood retrieved from these sources and the academy’s
administration claims that they contain unique blood proteins that are
metabolized by the human body twice as fast as egg proteins. They revealed
that mass production of products made from the extremely cheap substance
could begin in six months.

Dr Ludmila Antipova, the head of the academy's Department of Meat and Meat
Products, said: 'People should not be apprehensive. When you eat meat, there
is blood in that.' The Telegraph reporters visited the academy laboratories
and reported on some of these test foods such as 'chocolate'-filled biscuits
and a vanilla-flavoured 'yogurt' drink. "The 'chocolate' filling was made
from cow blood cells, sugar and chocolate flavouring. The 'yoghurt' drink
contained no dairy products, but was plasma extracted from cow blood and
treated with bacteria to give a creamy appearance, with sugar, preservatives
and flavourings.  The products looked and tasted like chocolate biscuits
and vanilla milkshake, it was impossible to tell that either contained blood.
They were delicious."

Bible On Eating/Drinking Blood

Genesis 9:4 But flesh with the life thereof, which
is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.

Leviticus 3:17 It shall be a perpetual statute for
your generations throughout all your dwellings, that ye eat neither fat nor
blood.

Leviticus 7:26-27 Moreover ye shall eat no manner of
blood, whether it be of fowl or of beast, in any of your dwellings. Whatsoever
soul it be that eateth any manner of blood, even that soul shall be cut off
from his people.

God seems to say as in that phone commercial "Can you hear me now?"

Leviticus 17:12-14 Therefore I said unto the children
of Israel, No soul of you shall eat blood, neither shall any stranger that
sojourneth among you eat blood. And whatsoever man there be of the children
of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, which hunteth and
catcheth any beast or fowl that may be eaten; he shall even pour out the
blood thereof, and cover it with dust. For it is the life of all flesh; the
blood of it is for the life thereof: therefore I said unto the children of
Israel, Ye shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh: for the life of all
flesh is the blood thereof: whosoever eateth it shall be cut off.

Leviticus 19:26 Ye shall not eat any thing with the
blood: neither shall ye use enchantment, nor observe times.

Deuteronomy 12:16 Only ye shall not eat the blood;
ye shall pour it upon the earth as water.

"Can you hear me now?"

Deuteronomy 12:23-25 Only be sure that thou eat not
the blood: for the blood is the life; and thou mayest not eat the life with
the flesh. Thou shalt not eat it; thou shalt pour it upon the earth as water.
Thou shalt not eat it; that it may go well with thee, and with thy children
after thee, when thou shalt do that which is right in the sight of the
LORD.

Deuteronomy 15:23 Only thou shalt not eat the blood
thereof; thou shalt pour it upon the ground as water.

"Can you hear me now?"

Acts 15:19-21 Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble
not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God: But that we write
unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication,
and from things strangled, and from blood. For Moses of old time hath in
every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath
day.

Acts 15:28-29 For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost,
and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;
That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things
strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall
do well. Fare ye well.

Acts 21:25 As touching the Gentiles which believe,
we have written and concluded that they observe no such thing, save only
that they keep themselves from things offered to idols, and from blood, and
from strangled, and from fornication.

"Can you hear me now?" Matthew 13:9 Who hath ears to
hear, let him hear.

Sabbath Morning Companion

Cacchio [used with permission]

Build It and They Might Not Come

"Build it and they will come."  Thus was the ringing line from Field
of Dreams.  In some quarters it has become a byword for building a church:
Simply declare yourself a congregation and people will find you.

While there is some truth that a healthy church will attract people, growing
a church is more than just waiting around for someone to walk in the door.
If the Scriptures liken evangelism to fishing, then the lesson Jesus taught
to Peter should apply through the ages.

One time Peter had been casting his net all night, but failed to catch a
single fish.  The next morning Jesus said to him, "Launch out into the
deep and let down your nets for a catch" (Luke 5:4), and as if on cue there
were so many fish that his nets began to break and he had to yell out to
his mates for help.

Here's the point:  Jesus could have had the fish just jump into the
boat.  After all, Peter had brought the boat, so the fish should just
come.  But God doesn't seem to work that way.  Peter had to become
involved personally.  Peter had to cast the net and haul them in.
God provided the fish, but Peter had to go out there, hook them, and reel
them in.

It's that way with evangelism.  We can't just sit around and wait.
God expects us to go out to the fishing hole and cast in the line.
Though "building it" is important,  you must put out a sign. ~ Lenny

Holy Humor ... with a point

Bat-tized

Three pastors were having lunch in a diner. One said " You know, ever since
summer started, I've been having trouble with bats in my loft and attic at
church. I've tried everything: noise, spray, cats ... nothing seems to scare
them away!"

The second chimed in "I know exactly what you mean. I've got bats in my belfry.
I've called exterminators, sealed all possible entrances and exits, left
the lights on and I still have those annoying bats in my church.

The third man drawled, "Yeah I had that problem too but then as I sat in
the church meeting hall one sabbath I thought of a sure-fire way to keep
them from coming into the church. I baptized all the bats ... and
they haven't been back since!

---

The Point ... of Contact [where the bat meets the ball]

While it may seem funny on the surface the underlying point is one of deep
seriousness. Weekly fellowship of the saints.

Jesus met for fellowship regularly on the sabbath day (as his custom was).
Luke 4:16pp "... and, as his custom was, he went into
the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read."

The disciples continued in fellowship as the Lord had showed them:
Acts 1:14 "These all continued with one accord in prayer
and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with
his brethren."

Paul imitated Christ in this same custom as we read in
Acts 17:2 "And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto
them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures" Acts
13:42,44pp "... the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached
to them the next sabbath. ... And the next sabbath day came almost the whole
city together to hear the word of God."

For a Christian, assembling together with those likeminded in Christ is the
life, the food, and nourishment of our souls. [Consequently, forsaking of
church-assemblies is usually a forerunner of apostasy.] In the first century,
the converts met daily in their community settings and had special fellowship
and a holy assembly on the sabbath day. The scattered church of today has
sparsely located assemblies and many brethren who sadly feel they do not
need fellowship or that the nearest congregation is too far away. Can the
finger say "I don't need the hand?" Can the flower grow without sunlight,
nutrients and water?

An illustration: A pastor tried to persuade a certain
man to come to church. The two men were standing in a room near the glowing
red-hot coals that burned in the fireplace. The man said, "Why should I come
to church? I can worship in the beauty of nature by myself. I can read my
bible and say my prayers. I can follow the teachings of Christ without the
help of anyone else." The minister was silent. Then he went to the fireplace
with a pair of tongs and lifted a single glowing ember from the remaining
coals. Carefully, he laid it on the apron away from the other coals. Within
a few minutes, as they watched, the glowing coal became a blackened ember.
The man said quietly, "I see what you mean. See you next sabbath"

We are meant to have fellowship with one another. There is strength in Christian
unity. Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 Two are better than one;
because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one
will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for
he hath not another to help him up. Again, if two lie together, then they
have heat: but how can one be warm alone? And if one prevail against him,
two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

How can we "bear one anothers burdens" if we don't even see each other?
Romans 15:1-2 We then that are strong ought to bear
the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let every one of
us please his neighbour for his good to edification.

The book of Hebrews makes the point clear in two specific pasages.
Hebrews 13:16-17 But to do good and to
communicate
(Gr koinonia =fellowship)
forget not: for with such sacrifices
God is well pleased.
Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit
yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account,
that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable
for you.

This passage says "don't neglect to have fellowship together." It also clearly
shows that the fellowship group or congregation meets in willing submissive
obedience to overseers - pastors who love the flock and know they must give
account to Jesus Christ for any lost sheep. This obviously suggests a larger
group than one or two.

And the second more widely quoted passage in that same book:
Hebrews 10:24-25 And let us consider one another to
provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves
together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much
the more, as ye see the day approaching.

The message is clear. We need fellowship together. To encourage and support
one another in the faith through life's trials. To sharpen each others knowledge
and skill with the Word of God. To learn to love and give of ourselves -
one to another.

Maybe you are strong and say "I do not need the support of men." But I say
to you "Why do you think God made you strong? To carry only yourself and
Jesus' light yoke? Or maybe is it to carry the burden of weaker brethren?
Maybe you are weak and say " I have nothing to contribute." But I say to
you "what is a teacher without a pupil?" "And what have you done with the
talent that was given you? Did you bury it or put it to use?" You may have
nothing of yourself but you have Christ within you and that is something.

So get together with the saints whenever possible. If the way is extremely
far try to go once a month or so at least. If you can't meet in person try
the internet or find a discount phone rate or a plan with "free minutes"
to enjoy a "teleconference sabbath fellowship"[there are a few groups who
host these functions but a fellowship phonecall can be made to any other
of the scattered saints - organized or independent]. Better yet, unbury that
talent and go evangelize in your own neighborhood. If God be for you ...
who can stand against you. Go share the good news of the Gospel and God may
form a church right in your house!

Lastly my friends in Christ, remember that our fellowship is truly with God
the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. 1 John 1:3 That
which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have
fellowship with us
: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and
with his Son Jesus Christ.

Psalms 34:3 O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name
together.
