BOBBY DIAMOND
wasn't BOBBY DIAMOND spanked by his guardian in the episode JOEY'S DAME TROUBLE? I also recall him being spanked by WENDELL COREY in the short lived series THE NANETTE FABRAY SHOW. I remember seeing these 2 shows decades ago when tv and tv families were so different. FURY was one of my favorites. THANKS |

No, Joey wasn't spanked in that episode, but Jim was real harsh when he spoke to him. I haven't gotten to see an episode of the Fabray show, so I couldn't tell you on that one. Thanks for posting the questions. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- Replying to: wasn't BOBBY DIAMOND spanked by his guardian in the episode JOEY'S DAME TROUBLE? Yes, I seem to remember him in the Nanette Fabray Show. Also, he played a young war hero as a child living in an abused home; he was either a young Audie Murphy or Jeffrey Hunter, both played war heroes in a film. Bobby played in the movie Airborne, but I've never seen it, so I don't know how it goes. M. Smith --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- Replying to:

I just found this site so I know this post is a few months old; however, Bobby Diamond played in TO HELL AND BACK. He played one of Audie Murphy's younger brothers. He was uncredited in the credits and I never figured out why because he had a speaking part! The little guy that played in MY FRIEND FLICKA was also in this same movie. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- Replying to:

Teri, It was not Johnny Washburn who played in the movie to Hell and Back, it was Jimmy Baird, the one who played Pee Wee on Fury. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- Replying to:

Thanks for correcting that mistake. I guess I got them mixed up. I KNEW he looked familiar though! I knew he was one of those little guys that I used to watch. Teri --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- Replying to:

Yeah, when I talked to Jimmy, I hadn't realized he was in the movie along with Bobby. Jimmy was also in Rebel Without A Cause, he played James Dean's little brother. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- Replying to:

Wow!! I just found this site today. I had no idea there was anything on the Internet about Bobby and Fury. I've often wondered what happened to all the kid actors I used to see (Richard Eyer, Bobby Diamond, Jerry Mathers, etc.). I've been looking them up on the Internet recently. I'm glad to know a few of us are around that still remember them all. Fury was one of my favorite programs. I never missed it. Those were the years when TV was worth watching. Too bad TV has degenerated to so much bad programming (at least in my opinion). Now days I hardly watch any regular programming on TV. I often think of the old days when Warner Brothers "owned" ABC with all their Westerns and other programs. They dominated ABC almost every night of the week. Then we had Fury, Lassie (with Tommy), and those other good family programs (I finally found out that both Bobby and Richard Eyer are older than me.[:)) I think of all of the kids programming, Fury was my favorite overall. |

Something odd: Bobby Diamond played a Vietnam returnee in the "Twilight Zone" episode "In Praise of Pip," (with Jack Klugman, who went on to become "Quincy, ME," and a very young Billy Mumy, several years before "Lost in Space.") Bobby also portrayed an airborne soldier in the motion picture "Airborne," but as far as I know, he was never in the military service. One of his co-stars, Jimmy Baird, or Roger Mobley, was in the service, and did serve in Vietnam, but I forget which one. Burke |

It will be most interesting if "The Nanette Fabray Show" should pop up sometime as TV shows are bouncing around all over the place with cable, internet and people collecting famous popular TV Shows on DVD. This show must put the rare in rare since it was short-lived and probably never made syndication. I would guess that the only chance for a TV return would be an all-black and white cable channel along the lines of "TV Land" pulling up every black and white filmed show (and surviving kinescope) they can get their hands on. But I don't know if such a channel could be a reality on basic cable any time soon. This show has the great Bobby Diamond so it needs to be found before time destroys the celluloid the "Nanette Fabrey" Shows were filmed on - wherever they are housed! |

Of course, this "Broken Wheel Ranch" would have the scoop! I just noticed on the Bobby Diamond section that apparently there WAS a syndication package for "The Nannette Fabray Show" called "Yes, Yes, Nanette". Be sure to carefully investigate the Bobby Diamond section on the "Broken Wheel Ranch" site. It is truly terrific - as is the rest! |
