Dear Chorus,
For the coming rehearsal please prepare the following:
MESSIAH:
p.131 Their Sound is gone out
p.141 Let us Break their Bonds
p.162 Since by Man
p.173 But Thanks be to God
We will touch up on other Messiah Choruses including p.110 Lift up Your heads.
Bring Brahms Requiem for a review of Movement III Fugue, p.38
For those who missed, we covered the opening of Worthy is the Lamb; we covered these choruses from Messiah: The Lord Gave the Word; Let all the angels; Lift up your heads; He trusted in God. We also worked on the Faure Cantique and Brahms Requiem Movement VII. Please be sure to consult your section leader for markings on these movements!
To the sopranos: You can anticipate a clarification and partial re-distribution of S1 and S2 divisi for "Lift up your heads" in the very near future.
For all members: You do not need to bring Faure or Moravec next week, but I highly encourage you to delve into these works and the additional Brahms movements as you can make time to do so.
You are doing great work. Remember that we rely on all of us to learn the notes outside of rehearsal. This is essential to keeping the rehearsal a musically rewarding experience!
All my love to you,
Kent |
