Message:   Dear Chorus,

It was thrilling last night to start our engines and reach musical momentum so quickly! For next week please prepare the choruses from Part I of Messiah. In particular practice the melismas SLOWLY to be absolutely sure of the notes. Also bring your Brahms. If the Faure Requiem has arrived we will also delve into that a bit. Markings for Messiah will be on the web site soon for any people who are missing them. Shortly Liz will be posting a master score of the Brahms Requiem so that you can add those markings to your score as well.

If you missed last night's rehearsal, please be sure to have worked on these movements:

Worthy/Blessing and honor/Amen
For Unto Us
Let Us Break their Bonds
His Yoke is Easy
Brahms Mvt 3, final fugue "Der Gerechten Seelen"
We finished with some light work on the first movement of Brahms.

Recommended Reading:
Brahms: A German Requiem by Michael Musgrave, Cambridge Music Handbooks, Cambridge University Press
Choral Masterworks: A listener's guide by Michael Steinberg, Oxford University Press

Enjoy! We have much to be thankful for.

Kent
