Mason's Arms 4 Freeland Buildings Stapleton

There appears to be a second establishment in Stapleton called the Mason's Arms. It is only called the Mason's Arms in 1871 and 1881 census, but is clearly run by the same people as far back as 1841. The follwing is extracted from one of my family trees

John Green
b Pilton
1841 Beer retailer Freeland Cottages Stapleton aged 25
1851 Beer retailer Freeland Buildings Stapleton aged 38
1861 Licensed Victualler Freeland Buildings Fishponds Road. aged 48 and looking after niece Hannah Higgs aged 12
1871 Beer retailer Masons Arms 4 Freeland Buildings aged 54
1881 Labourer Beer House Freeland Road Stapleton aged 64.
George Martin is next entry in census as Carpenter and Beer House keeper with his wife Hannah Maria Higgs, John Green's niece, at Masons Arms

Re: Mason's Arms 4 Freeland Buildings Stapleton

Hello John,

Thank you for the 'new pub' I will put your information on the site as soon as I can. Although it is listed under Stapleton in the census, Freeland Buildings is actually in Eastville at the Bristol end of Fishponds Road.

Thanks again,
Kevin.
