Defamation - advice needed
I am ready to publish my book-length story of my life about childhood sexual abuse. But I have been told that I am likely to be sued by my father/mother who abused me. I want to tell the truth but I can't prove it's the truth (nor could the police). Can anyone give me any advice?

Hi Dancing girl. I'm in the same boat as you. I am writing a book along similar lines and have been trying to find out where I stand legally but not having much luck so far. I am unemployed and can't afford to seek legal advice. Will let you know if I find out anything that can help. |

why should you stop printing out what actually happined to you it is like saying it is not you ! Personally I would write it you could though maybe change names ? if you felt unease the fact your parents abused you makes me shocked to think they would want all the hassle of courts etc with defemation etc |

I have now written my book complete with "named names" but have been assured that the publisher's lawyers will deal with the legal side of things before publication. |
