Message:   Robert. Firstly thanks for the great information. I've spent hours looking for information on line followers and your site is by far the best.
Question:
When using the BA motor driver chips did you have any problems with excesive heat. I have built the circuit as per your diagram (don't quote me on that) but I am having difficulties with the thermal shutdown system which shuts down the chip at 170degrees centigade.
Also I've been trying to simulate the logic inputs at around 5 volts but with no success. I always have the same voltage across both output terminals. Cant seem to get it to switch. I have checked 0V rail and all seems fine. It's possible that I've damaged the chip but do you have any ideas? Im starting to get the feeling that electronics isn't my strong point!!!
