Mar 4, 06 - 10:46 PM	K-Site Banned me and killed all the Ezra Small Treads Actually, on Friday, 3-3-06, it looks like some Mod had MOOSHED all the Ezra Small threads into one combined thread. I commented on this and a few other things and it looks like I REALLY ticked off ProudPenny at K-Site because, in retaliation, she banned me and killed all the Ezra Small thread(s) I was involved in. For anyone that reads this, I am REALLY sorry! Here's the text of an email I sent Craig at K-Site. It provides some explanation: Dear Craig, I have a serious issue to bring to your attention. As it has bearing on the popularity and success of KryptonSite, I hope you can spare some time to treat it seriously. There has a pronounced and obvious drop-off in people using the K-Site Forums. Part of that is probably due to malaise after Episode 100 of "Smallville". Part is due to the Server problems of a few weeks ago. Part may be due to server changes which make it very hard to stay logged-in long enough to write a simple posting. But I strongly suspect that an even more direct reason for the drop-off in usage has been from the marked increase of Moderators banning people, expunging posts and closing, moving and combining threads. The growing emphasis on "the rules" has had a "chilling" effect on the general self-_expression. Worse, it's my subjective observation that many of the most insightful, interesting posters - those with the deepest interest, experience and knowledge (even inside knowledge) just aren't posting on K-Site anymore. I've been posting quite a bit over the last six months or so, primarily in the "Spoilers and Speculation" forum about the Ezra Small Prophesies. Under the names "Eh,Man!You-El?" and, later, "Capt~Placeholder!!!". On Thursday, 3-2-06, I discovered that a long term poster named "Lana_Lang_#1" had been banned. "Lana_Lang#1" appears to be employed by the "Smallville" Producers specifically to be a source of "official" spoiler material. While she seems to be young and perhaps a bit amateurish in her posts she has demonstrated herself to be uniformly upbeat, polite, and tremendously supportive of KryptonSite. There was no explanation for the ban on "Lana_Lang#1", but with a little searching I discovered she had probably mentioned something about "downloading" in a post labeled (ironically) "You know you are way too obsessed with Smallville when..." The banning of Lana_Lang_#1 struck me as a perfect example of the excesses of the new "zero-tolerance" Moderator policies, so I decided to not only comment on the subject but perform something of an experiment to demonstrate how problematic these policies can be - and how often they may be used for personal caprice rather than addressing real problems in the discussions. There used to be several threads about the Ezra Small Prophesies. On Friday, I noticed several of these threads had been consolidated and re-named into a thread called (something like) "Ezra Small Prophesies(3)". There was no Moderator post at the beginning or end explaining why several threads had disappeared and a new admixture had been posted. I posted something specifically to see what the Mods would do. I mentioned Lana_Lang_#1 being banned. I asked if anyone knew of a way to see the new "Vengeance Chronicles" in detail. I specifically did NOT ask for a way to "download" these web-isodes with the full knowledge that even they might be covered under the K-Site rules against discussing any downloading of episodes. I DID mention that one of the Ezra Small prophesies seems to suggest that the only way to see significant info in the "Vengeance Chronicles" would be to analyze the interlaced lines on the TV Monitors in the current "VC" episode. (Discussing the Ezra Small info was, after all, the main theme of the thread). I did mention that tip-toeing around the word "download" made me feel like a "tremulous ass". I then mentioned something that I knew would tick-off the Moderators but was a salient point in what I was trying to express - I questioned why there were "Google Ads" for services to download episodes in K-Site headers.) Since I figured I probably WOULD be banned for even that glancing observation, I mentioned that the Moderators have been acting arbitrarily (as in merging the thread) and draconian (as in the banning of Lana_Lang#1). To finish, I mentioned that K-Site wasn't any fun anymore and I would be signing off, permanently. I even sent Proud_Penny an IM to let her know my concerns. So what happened then? Not only was I banned: Capt~Placeholder!!! Banned Banned for trolling and flaming. Eh,Man?You-El? Banned Banned for being the sockpuppet of a troll. But the entire thread (which now contained most of the Ezra Small discussion for this entire season) was REMOVED. I did, after all have two log-ins (even though I haven't used Eh,Man?You-El? at ALL for several weeks now, ever since I found out it wasn't allowed). BUT REMOVING THE ENTIRE AMALGAMATED EZRA SMALL THREAD? That is EXACTLY what I call Arbitrary and Draconian. I have to ask you, Craig: Is an action like closing an entire thread (actually, in this case substantially more than that) merely to "punish" someone who questions the Moderators' actions the way you want the K-Site Forums to be run? Is such an administrative posture likely to make the site more successful or less? How much of what happens in the Forums should be for the Users benefit and how much solely for the Moderator's convenience? Have YOU noticed an increase in complaints about the Moderators lately? Please, forward this email to Proud_Penny and any of the Moderators you feel like. I am copying it to Shirkie at EzraSmall.com just because I have her email address. This is my way of apologizing that my posting seems to have triggered the wholesale deletion of the Ezra Small threads. I have copied the links for threads I still have records for and the K-Site User IDs of those User who have had their posts on these threads also deleted. I have tremendous respect for what you are doing on KryptonSite and your other ventures, Craig. I have gained a tremendous amount of pleasure over the last year perusing your site. I wish you all the best. I do hope you can see how a case like what I've outlined is likely to indicate some problems withe the K-Site enterprise which can and should be remedied. BTW, if Proud_Penny had bothered to check the posting logs while she was creating those charming and innovative custom text tags for my Log-in names, she would have identified "Capt~Placeholder!!!" as the "sockpuppet" for "Eh,Man!You-El?" and not the other way around. I guess it was just faster to define the perpetrator-at-hand as the most important. Also, the Wikipedia link used by the K-Site Rules to define the word "Troll" states: "a troll is a person who posts rude or offensive messages on the Internet, such as on online discussion forums, to disrupt discussion or to upset its participants." I have to ask, are the Moderators supposed to dismiss ANY question about their own activities as merely "rude and offensive"? If Proud_Penny is "upset" by my posts I do apologize but still, I urge her to review my comments - they are valid, significant and have a direct bearing on the future success of the KryptonSite forums. For me, though, I'm BANNED, son! (and PROUD of it!) I hope some good can come of this. I wish I could remember what the other posters had come up with. MadCoder had a LOT of very detailed analysis and I can't remember if it covered anything that isn't already on Shirkie's Hidden Prophesy VII page: http://www.ezrasmall.com/hidden7.htm Monitor the message. Vengeance may be understood By peering between your fingers. In the current "Vengeance Chronicle" (33.1), there are many scenes with many images appearing on multiple "Monitors" (along with a LOT of exposition). It seems likely that important info is in these graphics. But we may even BETTER "understand" "Vengeance" by "peering" at hidden images that appear on the interlaced lines of video. (like interlaced "fingers", geddit?) NOTE: The posting on K-Site that caused me to get banned discussed the need to be able to see these "Vengeance Chronicles" in extreme detail in order to follow what seems like directions from Ezra Small. This seemed like a very important discussion point that necessarily touched on downloading. So far, all reports I've read is that the Flash videos of the Vengeance Chronicles on the official WB Acuvue website is so choppy and lo-rez that no-one, even with the fastest computers and connections, can see these episodes in any sort of detail. In the coming attractions for the rest of the season which are at the end of the current "Vengeance Chronicle" (33.1), John Kent appears as a ghostly figure before Clark and warns him that Lionel knows his secrets and to protect Martha (sorta like the ghost of Hamlet's father). The lines: 'She who is above Will bring the ways of eternity To the twilight of the morning." was from passage 148 of The Coffin Texts about "Horus, the hawk-god of Egypt. The phrase also seemed to connect to the Phrase "Red Cloak." This probably relates to "Andrea (Maya) Rojas" in "Vengeance": I have brought the ways of eternity to the twilight of the morning. I am unique in my flight. My wrath will be turned against the enemy of my father Osiris and I will put him beneath my feet in my name of 'Red Cloak.' Angel of vengeance - "unique in my flight" - "My wrath" "Rojas" is Spanish for "Red" The character was originally called "Maya" in the spoilers In Hindu mythology, there is talk of the "Cloak of Maya" (Cloak of Illusion) The inside of her "Cloak" (Coat) was RED. The reference In Prophesy 22 about: "Nebo will protect our realm" Since "Nebo" was a god of speed (Mercury) this phrase may actually be a reference to "The Flash". "Bart" (Kid Flash) has already been mentioned in "The Vengeance Chronicles" "33.1" The end of Prophesy 22 was:" For though thunder over the distant hills Still gives but a murmuring sound, The tempest is spreading. They will be ready." It may be that the concept of "The Vengeance Chronicles" available to CJ Beppo when Prophesy 22 was being written originally contained the idea of all sorts of cameos: Aquaman (Enki), The Flash (Nebo), and a new character to anchor the story, Vengeance (Horus). And it could be that the Vengeance Chronicles was always intended to introduce the first Smallville Spin-Off: "Mercy Reef" (Young Aquaman) which was originally titled "TEMPEST KEY". And, BTW, The reference In Prophesy 22 about: "When the House of Kanya exalts him He will wake as from a profound sleep." Seem to relate to the latest Ezra Small Hidden Prophesy VII about: "Their stony hearts hide the visitor. La ciudad blanca es un lugar de sueno profundo. BTW, in the "Vengeance Chronicles" web-isode "33.1", in the monitors that pop up about four times, there is a hand (as in "peer through your fingers") that appears while the architectural images of the "apartment building" Lex set up as the "Re-boot" of section 33.1. Later, in the mix of images of "Bart", there are some quick, blurry images of what looks like an explosion in Clark's Loft just after someone in a red (Clark) or orange (Bart) jacket speeds through. This may relate to the upcoming web-isode: "A different kinda loft scene". There is another image mostly black on the bottom and red on the top that looks to me a little like a fire at an oil refinery located on the water, or a ship fire, or something like that. Among the screens showing lines of green data text, tere is one VERY quick frame with the data in a large legible font. I tried for an hour to capture that frame and then gave up. I'd be willing to bet some spoiler info is in those big green letters. Anyway, I wanted to leave one final contribution to the code-breakers who have read so far down my sad little thread. It looks like I've done all the damage I need to.
