Recent Prophesies about "TIME"
http://www.kryptonsite.com/forums/showthread.php?postid=1828941#post1828941 Ezra Small Prophesy #22 in the Sept. 2005 issue of Smallville magazine, See: http://www.kryptonsite.com/forums/s...mp;pagenumber=1 and http://www.ezrasmall.com/prophecy22.htm The key line in the first triplet of this prophesy is talking about "Time": "recall me the day that is past" This is almost certainly a reference to "Reckoning" The key line in the last triplet also refers to "Time" (obliquely): The tempest is spreading They will be ready The Word "Tempest" is from Middle English, from Old French tempeste, from Vulgar Latin *tempesta, variant of Latin tempests, from tempus, time.] The "Tempest" that is "spreading" looks like it may be a Temporal Tempest, and the "Linear Men" may be the "they" that "will be ready" to fix it. The Linear Men: Dr. Ripley "Rip" Hunter AKA Hunter Matthew Ryder Waverider (a Matthew Ryder from an alternate timeline) Liri Lee Travis O'Connell And in the series "Chronos": Walker Gabriel -------------------- See: http://www.kryptonsite.com/forums/s...172#post1445172 from the DC Universe: Where all the lines converge, many have sought the source of life./ The beginning is the end is the beginning.// "The Source" is a semi-divine / semi-George-Lucas buncha energy in Jack Kirby's "New Gods" series set on "New Genesis" ("Genesis" meaning "Beginning" in Greek (Bere**** in Hebrew) is, of course, the beginning of the Bible) and Apokalpyse (a near spelling of Apocalpse, Greek for Revelation, which is the end book in the Christian Bible). And "where all the lines converge"? A group of "time-cops" called the Linear Men (Allof them!) created a place-time called the Vanishing Point (which is a graphics term describing visual perspective - the point [/b]Where all the lines converge[/b]), located in Limbo — at the heart of The Source. in the comic "Armageddon 2001" #1 (5.91) A nice summary of this can be found at: http://www.hyperborea.org/flash/hypertime.html The Linear Men In the early 21st Century, time travel researcher Matthew Ryder managed to transport his laboratory to a point outside the normal time-stream, which he called Vanishing Point. From there he began studying the space-time contin-uum. He made contact with other time travelers, including Rip Hunter and eventually Waverider, a Matthew Ryder from a divergent timeline. Waverider’s continued existence after the erasure of his own past should have been a clue to what would later come to light, but at the time it was assumed that Waverider’s merging with the timestream had protected him. Calling themselves the Linear Men, this small band of time travelers decided to police the timestream so as to prevent widespread interference by one era in another. When The big kahuna Green Lantern, Hal Jordan went all cosmic and became "Parallax', he and Extant attempt to restart time from Vanishing Point, but are defeated by the heroes who follow them back to the Dawn of Creation. in the Comic "Zero Hour" #1-0 (9.94) Parallax's goal was to go to the beginning of time and redo the entire history of the universe so that Coast City would not have been destroyed by Mongul. ---------------------------------------- So, I expect the Time-Travel used in "Reckoning" will, in a later episode, invite investigation by The Linear Men. I think it's also possible that some aspect of "time-wars" could be part of the information about the destruction of Krypton and the history of the "EL" family that Brainiac and Zod may end up providing to Clark. Since there are 10 episodes left this season and we know the basic plots for 5 of the next 6 (513-Vengeance, 514-Tomb, 515-Cyborg, 516-Hypnotic, 518-Fragile). We know very little about 517-Void, and I think it's at least possible that "Void" will be another time-travel episode (what with the mention of "Mr. and Mrs. Lang"). I think Time Travel is less likely to be used in one of the last four episodes since it sounds like the build-up will be to a season finale reveal of "Zod". Also, James Marsters was contracted for at least 7 episodes and I suspect at least two of the last four will be braniac-centric episodes. |

Feel like writing an entire page dedicated to time-travel (everything from the gunshot in crisis to "Lexmas" to "Mortal" to "Reckoning" to possible future incidents? I don't dare try explaining this in my own way, but I would be more than happy to host and edit any nice long document/page you'd be willing to provide... I think readers would really appreciate an Ezra Small page with guest author Eh,Man?You,El? :) shirkie |

Interesting... The "time" problem for me is this: Even simply listing the many problematic situations and bakground stories that have to do with "time" would be a daunting task. But, then, in order to feel like I'd provided something new to the conversation I'd feel like I had to come up with some explanations and hypotheses to coevr the problems. Also, it seems abundantly clear that TPTB don't give a rat's ass about repeating or following through on any previous plot complications, much less building up a semblance of continuity. I'll think about it and if I think of a good "angle" for such an article, I'll get back to you. Thanks for thinking of me for such a task, tho'! |

Vell, Shirk, ol' buddy, I thought about continuing to editorialize here and on K-Site and I decided it just isn't as interesting as it used to be. I oposted my 1000th post on K-Site today (acheiving "Posting Pro" status) and signed off for good. The 4.5 year build up to "Reckoning" demonstrated to me that "Smallville" will continue to be more frustrating than not. Even the Christopher Beppo stuff has been becoming tedious. I have the strong impression that even CJB has been straining to inject the upcoming episodes with enough significance to make for interesting clues. This just seems like a good time to hang up my de-coder ring. Have fun, kiddo! See ya in da funny papers! - Eh,Man!You-El? late of Kryptonsite. |
