FORUM RULES AND GUIDELINES - Everyone please read before posting
The Wall of Shame forum is a discussion medium, and as such its primary purpose is the dissemination of information about the destructive impact of the cultural appropriation of Native American Spirituality by non-NDNs. The goal of this forum is to come up with creative and effective strategies for putting an end to spiritual abuse. To this end, certain rules and guidelines have been established to provide for a conducive atmosphere of intelligent and respectful discourse. All members are expected to read, understand, and agree with our guidelines before posting. General disruptive behavior will not be tolerated and will result in the moderation of your post, and the possible closing of your thread. In extreme cases it may lead your IP being banned from this forum. Disruptive behavior being defined as any of the following 1.) Posts deemed by the moderator to be devoid of any intelligent content. 2.) Repeated refusal to cite sources or other evidence in support of your claims. 3.) Repeated refusal to respond to a moderator's request. 4.) The creation of sock-puppets. 5.) Intentionally misrepresenting yourself as a Native American. 6.) Intentionally misrepresenting yourself as an attorney. 7.) Intentionally misrepresenting yourself as a law enforcement official or a member of the FBI, CIA, NSA etc. 8.) Attempts to use this forum to advertise a product or service will result in your IP being banned. 9.) When you are banned from the forum for disruptive behavior, go away and don’t attempt to post anymore or you will be reported to the authorities. 10.) No one is, under any circumstances, to lie about their tribal affiliation or their entitlement to conduct Native American ceremonies or to sell Native American goods or services. 11.) If you are selling anything and you are requested to provide proof of tribal affiliation, you must present proof of leave the forum permanently. 12.) Anyone who is NOT selling anything may choose to remain anonymous. 13.)No one in the forum may threaten anyone with a lawsuit for expressing their opinion. 14.) To help keep the forum organized and useful, please pick a descriptive title for your thread – the name of the person abusing Native American Spirituality is usually the best way to organize the thread. 15.) Please stay on topic and do not post social/political commentary unrelated to the primary purpose of this forum. 16.) Forum participants are to avoid any and all of the following: a) Misrepresentation of evidence, out of context quotes being used to falsely represent a view for example. b) Repeated refusal to respond to rational challenges to one's claims. We are a debate forum, not a soap box. 17.) Before submitting your post, PLEASE proof read or use spell check, as proper writing helps to avoid ambiguity and build mutual respect. 18.) Always respect copyrights and provide references where available. 19.) I encourage everyone to exercise sound judgment when posting personal information in the forum. This is a public entity and all information posted is available for public scrutiny and review. I will not delete a post in which you embarrass yourself or make statements in anger that you later regret. Think before you post. My apologies to the majority of you who do not need to be reminded to behave ethically and intelligently in this forum. I didn't think it would be necessary to post rules for this forum. My hope was that we could all have HONEST, meaningful and intelligent dialogue that would create greater understanding between NDNs and non-NDNS, but unfortunately there are those who want to prevent this from happening. I reserve the right to create additional rules and/or guidelines if any more disruptive behavior should occur. Anyone who cannot or will not observe these guidelines is NOT to post to this forum. |
