Fun Fun Fun
I was thinking this message board doesn't have enough mindless competition for no reward. So I thought I would fill that void. Cryptic statements always seem to be the most fun message board games, so here is the first one, it's in code and whoever gets it right (and it should be fairly obvious who gets it right) makes up the next coded message. Then we can keep a score board on who's winning. The first one will be fairly easy. 36 16-12-18-44 38-24-22-44 14-38-36-16 40-52-28-44 36-16 52 38-36-14! |

I sure hope this game is a hit! I'll need time to come up with another message |

I dont know how to do these?? |

That last code was the numbers of the letters multiplyed by 2, then reversed. for instance, usually A would be 1. But multiplied by 2, it is two. But flip the numbers around and it's 52. Here is a code. I am unsure if it will be difficult for you or not. Remember: The English language has only 2 stand alone letters; I and A. Man that one is hard Amber. Do all of the letters have unified way of decyphering them? Or is it a weird code with no rhyme or reason? |

Amber didn't explain the solution to Jon's code correctly. 26 letters in alphabet numbered 1(A) to 26(Z). In Jon's code... 52/2 = 26 which normally would be Z but Jon used the reverse making it A. A=26(x2=52); b=25(x2=50); c=24(x2=48) Everywhere you find the number 52 in the code substitute in the letter A, and so on. Amber has created a similar substitution puzzle of some sort (similar but different). Use her hints that only A and I can be words on their own and also your knowledge of common 2-letter words (like on, in, an, it...) and 3-letter words (the, and, ...) to figure out what the numbers spell out. |

Gah. I did Jon's code right, but after I read mom's post I realized that my explanation was poor. A hint to my code: I didn't just substitute. There is more than one thing that you must do to the message. Also, look at the words themselves. Do you see any similarities? |

"I wasted time and now time doth waste me." You used a combination of scrambling each individual word and than a simple substitution cypher If that is it, (and i'm fairly sure I am considering how appropriate this quote is.) then this is the next Cypher srosereadrelestiovreaebulgrasusiwseteosraeuoy And here's a little clue to help you out: 533 734 525 233 |

to solve you go back one letter in the first bunch then times by two each time... 1*2=2 2*2=4 and that is how you know which letter it is. |

Too hard? Here's how this cypher works.... Number alphabet from 0-25 and use this formula. Words have been broken into even groups (of 5 in this case). x = uncoded number y = coded number a = multiplier b = constant y=a*x+b |
