Glove question

Hi!For a 72kg fighter what kind of gloves (oz. weight)are we using in Bangla or Kata stadium?

3 1 Only gloves certified by World Muay Thai Council are allowed to be used in any match.

3.2. Boxing glove requirements:

Glove usage should correspond to the following weight divisions:



Weight Division
Glove Weight

Mini Flyweight - Junior Featherweight
6 ounce (132 grams)

Featherweight - Welterweight
8 ounce (227 grams)

Junior Middleweight and upwards
10 ounce (284 grams)



The weight of the leather shall not be more than half of the total glove weight, including the internal cushioning, which should always be in good condition.
The laces are to be tied at the back of the wrist band.

They were fighting Muaythai @ Lumpinee stadium for many decades before the WMC was even thought of.

Some stadiums in Thailand use 6oz gloves and others use 8oz

I think you will find that the rules of the WMC was invented by foreigners so foreigners can have some control of the sport of Muaythai out side of Thailand.

Within Thailand the only Gym's that I know of being members of the WMC (World Muaythai Council) is a couple of Gyms OWNED by foreigners.

Thats very humbling of you david to make light of it in the end. it shows u are a good person. Alot of people would get defensive and try and get the last word in and make their own spin on dannys answer. Good for u mate.
