Both Alan and I have contacted Bill, Keith, and Mikel in regards to this... Maybe if we said our names were Mr. Miyagi then he would gladly respond... I know quite a few people including me who have emailed BWL and never ever get a response anymore about anything.... At one time I was told I was a VIP... and now I guess since I haven't bought anything in a while and made some comments about the quality of work on this forum I am on a shit list.... So be it... I see that the Japanese market has all the stores, get special items that the US market never sees, and now the people who have bought many many items from BWL don't even get responses to emails or requests for items.... I see bill wall comes here and places photos of scantily clad girls, etc...but doesn't have the time to respond to legitimate questions that I and others post here.... I started a thread about NAC items here a good while ago and still have yet to get a response.... I have emailed BWL at least 3 times or more in the past month and still haven't gotten a response.... The only one with the decency to respond to a message was Mikel Roberts when I messaged him through Ebay in regards to the whale tails.... Funny how Alan was the first that wanted one and when he mentioned it I wanted one as well and now all of a sudden they appear on Ebay and yet Alan and I never got a response to it at all..... To me, this is no way to treat customers that have been loyal and always supported BWL.... Alan especially...I know that he has purchased a ton of items from BWL and now even he is kicked to the curb..... I guess like I stated if you aren't Japanese you aren't worthy of BWL items anymore.....

The main reason why Alan and I have had to curb our spending is that we both are recent retirees and the money we used to get has been cut in half and we don't have what we used to to spend on large expensive BWL pieces anymore.... So I know we save and scrimp in hopes of getting maybe a smaller piece that we can afford...But I guess if it isn't dripping in gold overlay and have stones placed in it then it isn't something that is placed on the front burner if any burner at all.....

Like I stated I guess when you criticize someone and they can't take the criticism then you get shit on..... So be it.....

So now I know I have sealed my fate.... Shame is I had to air it out on this forum...however, when I talk to quite a few people that are on this website in private and I hear what they are saying about BWL in private emails then I think it is about time someone spoke up...

So wipe me off your butts and flush me down the toilet I guess.. I know that the Japanese will be still buying BWL and I am just a flea on some dog's ass....

Again, I at least speak my mind.... maybe some of the others of you that are shit on will respond in kind as well.... Me, I am fed up kissing ass just to get shit on....

Am I mad ???... perhaps, but I get over it easy.... but like I said the quality of customer service by BWL just isn't there... or at least not for us nickel and dime people.....

And if I want BWL then I will just go to Ebay...

So tell me Don, how do you REALLY feel?

I can't speak for the last few months, as I left BWL, along with Ann, back in May...but I CAN tell you that the Bill Wall I know cares deeply about his fans, both domestic and international. You should know that under the current economic strains there has been some re-structuring at BWL. Change is magnified when it happens in a small company. A 3 or 4 person shift may be insignificant to most, but when it represents 40%-50% of your workforce it may take some time to recover. I have no doubt that BWL WILL recover and continue to provide customer service at a level to match their industry-leading product quality.

While we are engaging in full-disclosure, I will admit that Bill and I butted heads over a few things in our 13 year business association. None more so than his insistence on making affordable versions of his product available to select "fans" who claim they could otherwise not afford them. I noticed that many of these individuals were in fact collectors, trying to maximize their dollar spent. I've even seen some flip these same items on ebay for a PROFIT! In my mind, the true fans were the ones (and there are many) who refused to buy or sell on ebay, preferring to forego a larger collection in favor of supporting the artist through custom order, direct from the factory, or authorized retail purchases. Sheryl Crow said it best: "It's not about getting what you want, it's wanting what you got".

Please know that I do not have a problem with anyone who purchases on ebay, just those who claim to be fans, and will ONLY purchase discounted product.

i've bought bwl leather at 2 different retail stores,
i've custom ordered items straight from bill and his website,and i've bought from individuals on ebay.i've also bought from mikel-lunchonmeatonwholewheat-who i believe bill has authorized to sell his product on ebay. for keith to make the statement your not a true fan if you buy bwl on ebay is stupid-since bill has mikel selling for him on ebay.i work hard for my money and i like getting deals on bwl items.i appreciate bill offering items at a discount or throwing something in on a custom ring or piece.does this make me less of a fan or do i appreciate bill any less? hell no. i'm sure when bill bought his mercedes, he did'nt go into the

Which, is an interesting stance, but I would be curious to know how often he or any of his celeb clients paid full price from Bill. I mean if Keith felt that strongly I am sure he would have insisted on paying full price as a true fan to support the artist right?

Personally I don't care one way or the other and I don't think it makes you more or less of a fan... in an idealistic world what Keith says makes alot of sense however I do think that in order to be successful you can't be that rigid to only cater to a certain type of personality. The bottom line is that (as Bard said) even if the product is discounted there is still profit.

It's a good topic though!

Hey Bard-

You are a perfect example, and the reason I included that statement in my previous post. I enjoyed working with you, and I know Bill appreciates your support.

I believe ebay, when used properly, represents an excellent vehicle to expand the market for a high-end product line. When misused, I believe it can reduce the perceived value, and could ultimately lead to the demise of that same product line.

As far as comparing similar profit potential through multiple sales, I would submit that part of the allure of BWL is it's exclusivity. By discounting the entry level to the top of-the-line products you effectively lower the perceived value of the entire line. Essentially you are paying for art. Imagine if the all of the sudden the Mona Lisa was sold at auction for $10k. The repercussions amongst da Vinci collectors (all 3 of them) would be devastating!
I'm a working stiff like a lot of you, hell, I had to go to work for Bill to be able to afford his stuff. I am not opposed to lowering price points and increasing production, but I believe it needs to be an across-the-board business strategy designed to attract a different (larger) market segment.

As always...I could be wrong.

good points also keith.as i stated i will miss you and anne.i always felt like when i called and spoke to anne or yourself- i had a friend in my corner going to bill on my behalf.as you can see from this forum people are very passionate about their love and admiration of bill and his products.anne even had bill call me personally about a ring.i missed the call,but i played the message back several times
and was very excited and touched that he took time to call me out of his busy schedule.thanks and good luck.
