Love your site...

We have two cockatiels here and enjoy them! Would like it if they were a little more tame though. We adopted one at 10 years of age and the other is maybe 3... They have a huge cage, since they won't let us handle them much! Any suggestions about getting cockatiels to become more tame? (can you teach old birds new tricks?!)

Thanks for the kind words, yes you can teach old birds new tricks. Without getting into it fully I'll simply say that getting your bird familiar with you is the key. Start slowly by placing your hand into the cage for a few minutes everyday, don't try to touch the birds, just let them get used to your hand being there. Progress from there by making the same noise every time you do it, call their name or something but keep it the same always. Eventually your birds will get used to you, perseverance is the key, good luck.
